Parc Jean-Drapeau

Parc Jean Drapeua, with a forward long extension of the lips when you say the “eu”, is a nice park that I planned to visit again after the first time I went there. I may be using the location soon for some portrait photography as well.

Reflections of Nature – Mount Royal

“How strange that Nature does not knock, and yet does not intrude!” ~ Emily Dickinson

Abo Lotfe

As sarcastic as its name sounds, I couldn’t find a better one yet for the new cat my roommate brought two weeks ago. Any suggestions?

Opinions from the Old Port, Montreal

With the temperature rising to 25 Celsius in Montreal this weekend, people found no excuse but to switch to summer mode and take advantage of it. I undoubtedly shared that advantage myself too by visiting the crowded area of the old port today to try and snap some perspectives, or opinions as i am calling it [...]

Nowruz day celebration at Concordia

Featured at Hafteh.ca magazine (pages 17,18) This weekend I rushed down to a 3,000 years-old Nowruz (new-day) celebration party arranged by the Iranian club at Concordia. Nowruz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of a new Persian year, and it is annually celebrated and observed by Iranian people and the related cultural continent.

Late Afternoon Scapes from Montreal

Given the fact that I did not become a big fan of HDR photos, this time I tried to use a different technique to fuse multiple exposures to overcome the digital sensor’s short dynamic range. It appears that the result is fairly a natural one compared to one image with a balanced exposure.

Quebec City, and the Ice Hotel

Few days ago I went on a University-planned trip to Quebec city, the capital of the Canadian province of Quebec. Besides travelling to a colder city than Montreal, I believe we spent more time riding the bus than touring around the city on feet. Montmorency “frozen” Falls. Quebec City. One German dude pretending he can [...]

A day with my Sigma Zoom lens

On a very cold day in Montreal, and by cold I mean ‘I appreciate the heat of UAE at this moment’, I went out on a walk down the white streets and shot some random photos with my Sigma 70-300mm zoom lens. No particular subject was in my mind, I shot anything of interest to [...]

Solidarity with Gaza!

An occupied land since 1967 and under Israeli blockade and severe economic sanctions for more than 3 years, Gaza is a highly densely populated area with 1.5 million Palestinians, living under harsh poverty, deprivation and human misery. Last year, Israel launched an aggressive attack against Gaza through its “Operation Cast Lead” resulting in the injury [...]
